The biggest improvement IMO is the toolkit, which gives you an off the shelf packaged Redux implementation. The toolkit has support for slices and Immer out of the box. https://redux-toolkit.js.org/

A lot of people have dismissed Redux and even roll their eyes when it's mentioned these days. I'm still a big fan after all these years. The recent improvements such as the toolkit, slices and integration of ImmerJS make Redux muc

To add to this, the React docs state you should never rely on renders for side effects. In dev mode, React will even render your components twice to suss out any render relying side effect bugs. Your component should always work the same wh

It bothers me that VPN providers advertise how using public wifi is "insecure" and that you need a VPN to be safe. It's a bald faced lie and they know it. Also regarding the article, you can prevent your ISP from seeing your

Many Sodastream owners do things like this. Such as hook up a large, commercial CO2 tank, or refill Sodastream tanks with dry ice. Lots of videos on YouTube on this.

I think it's primarily because you put actual content right in front of them, increasing the chances of them getting hooked by quite a bit. Before your blog post has any chance of hooking people, they have to first take the plunge of c

The article seems to touch upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy [1] without explicitly calling it out. It is based on mindfulness and accepting things as they are. I personally have found it very effective. [1] https://www.psyc

Jump to definition and rename every usage are really handled by the language server. Vim supports language servers quite well. I do both those commands in vim all the time. And vim complements them with (book)marks, return to last edit, etc

And once the commands become second nature, you almost feel “at one” with the file you’re editing. I feel the fluidity that vim offers me lets me dedicate more cycles to the problem at hand.

Gatsby is a good idea with a questionable implementation. I totally agree with the blog post. But I will say I've had lots of success with Gatsby and really like what it pulls off if you are willing to work with it. I would be really i
