That was the first one I saw and it immediately killed the site for me. Real rejection letters would be interesting to see.

The ads are nowhere near as bad as cable TV. Even after the recent change where ads are now much longer.

Ugh, that sucks. But I'd still take that over the experience I've had, which is usually trying over and over and over again to get a device to connect at all. Like listening to music in the car, pull over to get gas, and then spen

People in the Apple ecosystem usually report Bluetooth works great. I'm not in that ecosystem but I've heard this many times. I always assumed Apple works hard to make sure all their devices interop over Bluetooth well. For me, I

I made a web based level editor that I was hoping would fill in gaps I perceived in Mario Maker: https://smaghetti.com/ I no longer work on it and never really filled those gaps, but it was a fun time nonetheless.

I find it wild they've been mainstream now for 16 years and I still just absolutely hate them. I would gladly sacrifice screen for a good physical keyboard.

> Software simply does a lot more than it used to To me, this is the main problem. Most software now has so many features that the owning company can't possibly keep eyes on it all anymore, or just chooses not to as a cost cutting m

Terry Gross is the worst interviewer I've ever heard. She seems to make a lot of the people she interviews uncomfortable, and not in a good way. Trent Reznor in particular seemed especially annoyed.

The era between tables and flexbox/grid was a difficult one. Floats were finicky and hard to get right. A lot of people just went back to tables, and I honestly didn't blame them.

One small reason is they use ads as "payment" for things. Scrubbing through a video looking for a certain spot will require you to watch an ad almost every time you stop scrubbing. They also make you watch an ad if you pause the v

It can be much worse. The NHL used to play the same ad, many many times throughout a game, often multiple times in a row. They would also play that same ad for the entire season. We used to watch with remote in hand at all times, ready to m

On the flip side they are largely set and forget for all your devices. They also do things like blocking a Roku device from phoning home. Oh it also does dns over https which is a nice bonus.

I'm also reminded of Steve Jobs's Interface Builder demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl0CbKYUFTY&t=70s I still think it's impressive that AI can just look at 2 rectangles and discern slider though.

I'm a developer but also have an art degree and an art background. I'm very mediocre at art and design. But lately I've been using AI to help plug that gap a bit. I really think it will be possible for me to make an entire ga

I got off this rollercoaster by using Linux. My 10 year old Thinkpad works just fine today, and probably will for another 10 years. Linux isn't for everyone, of course. But avoiding this charade is a nice bonus.

Apple computers have a time limit if you want to keep using MacOS. My 2012 MacBook Retina still works great ... if I put Linux on it. Logic Pro is a great example. It requires MacOS 12 or greater. MacOS 12 will only run on 2015 or newer Mac

I was going to post this. Many times I've sat there trying to guess what the developer was thinking "maybe this will enable it? no... how about this?..." I can't even imagine what non-techy people do in these situations.

That was 13 years ago. A basic inflation calculator says $100 in 2010 would be $142 today. Not sure about Europe but after the US tax credit on EVs our Niro cost about the same as say an Accord.
