How many consumers have this style of interaction: * buy an item from Amazon (coffee maker or otherwise) * realize the build quality/size is rubbish (which from some of the less well known sellers, it really can be) * return the item u

Fair! He does mention improved throughput and responsiveness, but I don't see what metrics they're using for that.

Is about 200/3700 words really 'focusing on' LoC? I didn't really feel like the OP stressed that point too hard. I'd also argue that less code is (generally) more maintainable.

I thought the Martian was excellent. You'll notice that the user-rated % is higher than the critics, at 94%. From the video game aggregation space, you tend to see the type of thing you're suggesting (games that are big-budget-que

The green man is intended as a sign that it's safe to _begin_ crossing the road - at least in the UK. You'll notice that the man changes away from Green long before the light sequence. That's intended.

Woah there - let's not write off the CS department of every UK institution, shall we? This is definitely a case of 'YMMV'.

Oh great! I've been using lastpass for a long time, I might've just overlooked this at the time.

Wonder if now is the time to look at alternatives, before the service potentially changes. I hear a lot of good things about 1Password, which seems to work for my iPhone/MacBook. Anyone know if there's a reasonable option for usin

Again - if you'd made these points, I probably wouldn't have commented. You didn't; you flat out suggested exercising in London was a Bad Idea. I think you'll find that the benefits outweigh the negatives[1] Also, how do

>Exercising in London pollution is probably a bad idea Is not the same as: >Yes, in this level of pollution there are considerable risks that need to be balanced against benefits of exercise. I dispute the former, not the latter. Unle

What nonsense. You expect all the health improvements of exercise to be negated by poor air quality? It should be noted that both of your links were not average days. There's a reason that made the news.

I appreciate your point about coin being stronger in some decks than others - that doesn't change the fact that across _all_ of the games of hearthstone being played, if you go first you're more likely to win than if you go second

FYI - the way your comment is formatted caused text to be hidden in a horizontal scroll bar which wasn't visible on Chrome on OS X - took me a good minute to figure out what was going on.

As far as I'm aware, official stats from Blizzard is that the player going first is wins a higher % of the time than going second, despite the coin. I'll try and find the source. User dtech already found the source for me (: ->

> Did your instructors or TAs pair program with you? If so, what school were you at? Yes! As with many things in life, you get back what you put in. There were plenty of TAs and Lecturers who would happily sit and work through a problem

I'm one of a handful of people I know who still use a desktop on a (mostly) daily basis outside of work. They're all either devs or heavy PC gamers. Having said that, I don't know a single person who doesn't at least use

You've replied to this story about 15 times defending the woman's eating/exercise habits. What's the agenda here? Most of the people you're taking umbrage with aren't remotely disagreeing with the disorder; mer

While the parent certainly didn't approach it in a polite way; they have a point in terms of the last comment at least. A quick search online associates PCOS with increased risk of type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure,
