That's still not what the Bitcoin miners are doing. They're manipulating inputs, trillions of times a second, just to match a "magic" target for a SHA256 hash starting with a certain number of bits set to 0. Cracking has

Bitcoin has nothing to do with "cracking SHA256 hashes", for what it's worth. The only thing remotely related is how it brute-forces inputs until it generates hashes that begin with a certain number of bits set to 0.

Coins appear very seldomly in Mario Galaxy, whereas they are in abundance in Odyssey. I have doubts the Wii would have coped with the Galaxy coin model if so many appeared all at once. :)

Why not? The tool may be good, but the output visuals are only as good as the artists that use said tools. They can open source the tools all they want and try to hire all the talent that can use it. :)

The README is a bit opaque when I don't know the terminology, but the website seems to clue me in that it's a raytracer: https://openmoonray.org/

There are themes you can change (bottom of page), but I don't think any of them significantly improve it. Worse still, everything is stuffed into <div> elements and it also makes Firefox's "No Style" mode basically

"ton" is overloaded with three units having the same name, although at least the "metric ton" is often spelled tonne (1 tonne = 1000 kg ≈ 2204 lbs), but that still doesn't do enough to disambiguate it in speech. In

If you run Linux and have the `units` program installed, you can even do it without reaching for a web page: $ units '1-(11hr+22min)/(11hr+55min)'

ffmpeg has got to be my favorite media tool ever. :) It has replaced all kinds of various programs I used to use, such as netpbm and imagemagick. It's just better.

Impressive, I see one definite problem and a potential one: * I had incorrectly stated the conditions of the Y grouping. The digits must sum up to a multiple of 7, rather than be a multiple of 7 by themselves. 0000007 and 0000016 are valid

GNOME, KDE, MATE, LXQt, Xfce, etc each have their own design philosophies, benefits, and detriments. None of them are all-around objectively better than the others. GNOME does at least get a lot of corporate development and backing to make

"(c)" as an alternative to "©" predates your 1990s book by many decades. It even predates its common usage on computers (1960s or so), because typewriters have existed since the 19th century and "(c)" has been
