It's like a preview of when our highways will be full of self-driving cars - very cool. And I guess the next step is robots actually pulling the merchandise off of the shelves? Or maybe they'll just skip moving the shelves all tog

I would think the downvoting is from your "UI looks terrible" comment rather than the possible bug you mention.

Stagnating how? Less fancy whiz-bang shiny maybe-novelty features to entertain the tech blogs and mainstream media? Since the iPhone arrived in 2007, phones in general have made incredible advances in mobile performance, networking/cel

Agreed. This article is a good example of #2 when they reference the cartoon that shows the developer using default bootstrap style. Being lazy with Bootstrap does not make Bootstrap itself a bad thing.

Posted this mostly because it's pretty impressive how nVidia has improved efficiency so much without a die shrink. I'm hoping for some big leaps when 20nm (or lower) becomes a reality for GPU vendors.

I agree with the initial impression of a "big rectangular clunky thing", but thankfully the smaller version of the Apple Watch looks more reasonable. That along with the what-seem-like-great strap choices might make it a bit more

The most interesting thing about this is that it's being held at a different venue this year, and apparently one that has historical significance. Per MacRumors: > Performing Arts at De Anza College in Cupertino, the same location w

Agreed. Combine that with the Oculus DK2 getting almost universal acclaim from users, with a very small subset of software thus far that supports the new SDK and positional tracking, and this seems like it'll be a very big deal.

That is impressive if true. Does he also figure out how to read the WAD files himself too for level geometry and textures? I just find it hard to believe he isn't referencing the original source at all...

So how does his process work? Does he start with the original C engine source and start porting to Dart? Does he do some of the work beforehand?

I wonder if in the plans for Swift they have some sort of "surpass C performance in all benchmarks" goal. That would be pretty impressive.

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind this difference? The article only mentions "In Objective-C, NSArray and NSNumber are used intentionally as the counterparts to Swift's Array and Int."

Agreed - after a restore usually an iPhone will get unusually warm, I assume because it's doing this indexing and such. I don't recall if it happens after an in-place upgrade, though. I wonder if Apple will ever add some sort of i

Isn't it more about thinking they'll enjoy making games rather than thinking they are good at making them? Games = fun so it must be fun to make them...I assume that's how the initial thinking goes.
