You can create a segment and export it as a CSV, that way you can then reimport into a new list with the related GDPR fields and delete the old list. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a dark pattern, it's just a bad UI.

GDPR fields aren't accessible through the API at the minute, MailChimp are apparently working on it but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I've used MailChimp a lot and it's good Campaign Monitor is awesome from a templating standpoint. Sendy is by far the cheapest and is self hosted (I haven't used this so can't say whether it's any good or not)

Great idea and well done with balancing it with a full time job and a child. The only thing I can pick up on is spelling and grammar on the website, the main thing that jumped out was the word "MARKEETERS" you mean "marketers

It gets worse with designing for marketing campaigns, the amount of anti-patterns like confirm shaming is ridiculous. There needs to be better guidelines and enforcement to stop companies from using psychological "hacks" to get in

All of this data was leaked through a WordPress plugin uploaded to an old installation; WordPress is one of the easiest platforms to secure (IMO) so can't understand why organisations can't take the short amount of time needed to
