I've been getting away from apps installed from the play store over the years. This is one of the 2 remaining apps I have that I paid for. This is appalling behavior my Google. I can't wait until I can make a real Linux based phon

Possibly, but that's if you include the part about making it look/feel native. If you just provide the tools the are just focused on the language and framework and let the people who care about making it look native on whichever p

So basically he puts the individual podcasts into a playlist and also can play random podcasts and search for podcats? I'm still not getting how this is like wikipedia at all. It's just listening to a playlist. What am I missing?

Pure garbage. I still can't believe they actually think this is a good idea. That honestly is once of the worst metrics I've ever seen.

I don't understand your point. It's not the measurement itself that is the failure. It's making that measurement a goal that's the problem. The real metric that matters for any company is profit. Anything else is just an

As much as I dislike facebook, I think the root problem is the lack of critical thinking many people have. Our education system that's optimized for standardized tests don't really help with that. For example when I state opinions

I agree with this article. There are many developers who think of the database schema first especially in ORM heavy frameworks like rails. Also because of this a lot of people confuse data modeling with the database schema.

That's fine for one developer pushing to production from their own machine. But I've you have aCI server and you're working with other people you're going to want to know that everyone is working with the same modules.

I still don't understand the idea of "apps" for everything. There no reason these aren't just web apps which can be accessed by people who don't have phones. Dividing these apps into arbitrary regions seems pointles

Native apps can share libraries at run time. I'm no electron expert but I'm assuming electron apps only can share dependencies at build time at which point they would be copied into the executable so they really wouldn't be s

I think it's pretty absurd too especially since I just bought a raspberry pi 4 for under $100 that has the same amount of RAM. If I'm spending that much for a computer it has to be better than that.

I guess the main reason is so you can see your file explorer while working on a file. You could put your file manager side by side with whatever program you're using also I suppose.

If we could get an extension like this for every file type VS Code could basically become your OS (desktop environment) or file manager at the very least.

Nobody actually wants to go back to work. All they want is the financial security they feel from having a job. If any of these people hit the lottery for example would they be begging to go back to work?
