Very clever, and it's probably true that "intelligent mistakes" are the keys to believable and (more importantly) to enjoyable gamer experience, especially in the domain of games where everything is known and completely predictable (such as

We had exactly the same problem several years ago. We had lots of bats in our attic of our vacation cottage. In an effort to lock them out, we effectively locked them in, and they started coming in to the house through openings from the a

If they look like they'll be remotely interested, I give them an actual quick description: "I run a business that sells websites to video game players." On the other hand, if I don't really want to talk with them, I'll just give them the ol

I have to agree that it's not close to "grilling." Clearly Verizon feels the sting from iPhone converts and is trying to quantify just how much of a hit it's costing them.

Maybe I'm just retarded, but I couldn't find the answer to my question on your site. Does your service just pound the exact page that's targeted, or does it follow links, submit forms, etc to try to simulate actual users?

This is exactly what I do. Tom's Hardware charts are so very helpful when comparing benchmarks for graphics cards (and CPUs for that matter).

This is especially excellent advice. For my business, I list the phone number on the "contact us" page and I've scored countless sales simply because someone was there to answer the phone (the phone number is just my cell phone, no real ne

I'd like to second (third, really) Startup.com. It's a great documentary showing what not to do in a startup and the problems that faced many of the poorly run Web 1.0 companies before the nasdaq tanked in 2001.

About 3 years ago, my 6-digit ICQ number got hijacked without any way of getting it back (I had created it with a geocities.com email address). That was when I stopped using it.

I've always been inspired by Arnold's story and his dedication to whatever he was pursuing, be it Bodybuilding, movie-making, or real estate (and of course being the Governator). While I don't necessarily agree with his politics, he's an i

Despite this post being 3-4 years old, this remains good advice. You can't please everyone, and you can't implement every feature that every user thinks they'd want for their one specific situation. Instead you take all those requests and

That was a fun read. Doing the same thing over and over again for years at the hours the writer says he was working is sure to induce burnout. But if you change even the industry you're writing for and/or the type of projects you're workin

I've been waiting for the magic bullet phone, and this is looking like it could be it. I've been (and still am) a long-time Palm user - most lately the 700p, then the 755p all with Verizon, and though the OS is clunky and old, it works well

I don't remember how profitable 2006 was (since the income was combined with consulting at the end for taxes), but for 2007 and 2008, it was something like $90k revenue each year. 2008 was on a course for a bigger year (March did $14k) and
