Not to excuse or condone the president's behavior in any way, but it is not at all obvious how the word "shithole" is racist. I take issue with this because this word is so overused that it is losing any meaning. There are ma

Yeah, but factual reporting isn't necessarily fair reporting. Professional media also had an agenda, and the same set of facts can be presented in many different ways. Facts can be simply omitted, emphasized or underplayed, interpreted

I think there's definitely something in your comment. Similarly, I wonder whether there would be so much activism directed towards fake news, had the "right" candidate won.

Unrelated: the font chosen for the article body is way too thin to read comfortably. I've noticed this trend over the past few years and it makes for appalling UX.

It shines by being extremely opinionated, but imo the tradeoffs are not worth it. I was initially very curious about Angular2, but our relationship ended very quickly with the discovery of modules and dependency injection. It feels like som

I've found typescript an invaluable tool. Having worked on large backend codebases in both TS and JS, the difference is stark. The TS API in my case had something like 90% less errors, and those were all subtle bugs in business logic.

I don't get this. No one forces you to upgrade your perfectly functional es5 code to es2015, es2017, or typescript. Yes, node moves fast and new features are introduced, but everything is largely backwards-compatible. You don't ha

Vue is more flexible primarily via its single-file components and the ability to easily leverage existing HTML/Pug/CSS/SCSS/etc, making it an easier target to migrate to. I've personally preferred React+Redux+Typesc
