There's a lot of recent research which suggests that saturated fats have gotten a bum rap. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/5-studies-on-saturated-...

Yup, I definitely think that IF is part of the magic. Ketosis makes IF easier, in my experience, because of that elimination of the hunger impulse. Even on the days I do eat, it's usually not til mid afternoon - I don't intentiona

Dumb question, but do you drink coffee? Black coffee is a great appetite suppressant. For me, the "aha moment" was finding those specific foods which provoke or reduce hunger in me. Black coffee can keep hunger at bay for a LONG t

Not the OP, but I eat a high fat keto diet (mostly meat/eggs/high-fat dairy, leafy veggies, and some high-fiber nuts like almonds), get regular bloodwork, and my cholesterol is fine. Per my latest labs: 3.9 chol/HDL ratio (&l

Have you tried very low carb diets? I maintain a strict keto diet (<20g carbs/day), and when I'm in ketosis the hunger impulse is almost entirely gone. I'm very active - I train Brazilian jiujitsu and lift - and despite th

Fat is more calorie-dense (9kcal/g) than carbohydrate or protein (4kcal/g), but it's also extremely satiating - it's very difficult to overeat fat-dominant foods, particularly if you aren't eating it in tandem with

It's doable, but it requires a bunch of extra expensive equipment. Most people that want to accomplish that goal just install a battery array instead, since you're spending the money and it also gets you power coverage when the su

Solar won't keep you online through a power outage. The inverter is required by law to cut power from solar panels when there is not power from the grid, so as to avoid feeding electricity back into the grid lines (which technicians ma

I see a lot of this on the internet already - essentially just SEO spam generated by RNNs, which is good enough to get a plausible click-through, but not good enough to actually be right. I suspect ChatGPT and its ilk are going to just exac

From the model's perspective, it's not a distinct motif, that's the thing (and, it struggles quite a lot to reproduce the actual mark). The model doesn't have any concept of what a "watermark" is. As far as i

I understand that, but why is using copyrighted images to train a model be any more illegal than studying copyrighted paintings in art school? Copyright doesn't prevent consumption or interpretation, simply reproduction.

A lot of Photoshop's built-in tools could arguably qualify as "AI models" (think things like content-aware fill!) - I don't think Getty would say that using them would disqualify your image, but isn't that essential

You can definitely do JSX wrong. React doesn't do a whole lot to protect you from it, it's true. But, in a project which uses it well, I hate it a lot less than I once did.

I understand the instinctive reaction against JSX. I did a lot of Perl and PHP way back when, when it was super common to have bits of template sprinkled hither and thither with logic woven in here and there, and it made maintainability a n

We tried it, I even made some contributions trying to get it to work. In the end we just migrated to Mattermost, which speaks Slack webhooks natively and is a very competent Slack replacement. We self-host it, too, which is a big win.
