We tried it, I even made some contributions trying to get it to work. In the end we just migrated to Mattermost, which speaks Slack webhooks natively and is a very competent Slack replacement. We self-host it, too, which is a big win.
- tabbott 4y agoThose contributions were much appreciated and were merged as: https://zulip.com/integrations/doc/slack_incoming https://zulip.com/integrations/doc/slack_incoming It probably deserves another pass on the documentation; it's been improved a few times since then and may no longer deserve the "beta" designation.
- icelancer 4y agoHuh, that's pretty enticing. Unfortunately last time I set up Mattermost it exploded on a VPS so that wasn't too good...
- cheald 4y agoMy employer's Mattermost instance has been running on a small VPS for a few years with no issues, fwiw. It's braindead simple with docker+compose now, too.
