In the UK the largest cable provider, Virgin Media (owned by Liberty Global), is transitioning to fibre. I do not think there is much future for copper cables other than for short distances (which I class as within a building), or for non-b

I completely understand this, but for me this would be very difficult. I use mfa with 3 tokens (one I keep on my person, one by my home computer, and one in a safe place). If one were ever to be lost or damaged it would be a nightmare to ha

This is really interesting! Do you have a presentation on how you implemented it in your network? I would like to do my own experimentation.

I am disappointed that the Anker 715 (Nano II 65W) cannot do 12V with PD, but for some reason it is not one of the standard PD voltages. I think it is capable of 12V with PPS, but I am not sure if the decoy cables support it. If you specifi

Something that is sorely missing from the FOSS world is a DHCPv6 server that supports RADIUS. The only one I am aware of that is considered production ready is Kea ($$$). FreeRADIUS has one in development but I do not know when it will be c

There does not appear to be a setting available to prevent known vulnerable clients from connecting to your tailnet.

One nice way this could be improved is to add support for a wildcard dns record (e.g. *.host.tailnet.ts.net) so you are not limited to a single domain per host.

I would be happy if projects would convert their mailing lists to newsgroups. They are the perfect forum for discussions. The main benefits being that I can download all the historical messages easily (difficult with mailing lists), and I c

This is a great development. Sadly there is no support for IPv6. Hopefully that will come soon.

That sounds like something that would invalidate an insurance policy and exposes the dealer to all sorts of liability.

That is what I thought too, but here it means a node-graph, nothing to do with GIS.

Tailscale does not provide an audit log (who changed what and when). This ought to be part of the MVP for a security offerring.

My first thought is if the client does not specify a start ID it could be sent billions of records depending on the elapsed time and frequency of events. What would be the best way to avoid overloading a client?

My view is that apis should simply return a number when an error occurs. The vendor should supply a list of error codes to its consumers, translated into as many languages as necessary. The developers who are consuming the api can then dete

I enquired and I was told in no uncertain terms that the license forbids patching. This means that you cannot use the popular Nerd Fonts [1] patch set for adding missing glyphs. I hope that will change as I would like to use this typeface.

I honestly would not mind a one-off fee to convert my accounts so that I can carry on using my accounts just like any other free @gmail.com user. I never used any of the extra functionality. I only wanted to use my own domain with Google.
