I agree that Svbtle and Medium have a similar look and overall design sensibility. But in the interest of giving credit where it is due... Svbtle's announcement is dated March 22, 2012 http://dcurt.is/codename-svbtle https://news.ycom

Rather than place the present day at midnight on the clock, how about placing the present day on the current value given by the Doomsday Clock [1]. Then, with a little arithmetic, you can label midnight with the projected date of Doomsday :

That looks cool, but it's solving a different problem. The app I linked to is basically a clock that shows you your local solar times (day, night, golden hours, and twilight) at a glance, and can set alarms by them. If you want to wake at c

If you happen to use an iPhone, I highly recommend Sol: http://www.juggleware.com/blog/2012/01/sol-sun-clock-for-iph... I'm not sure what the equivalent on Android might be; if anyone knows, hopefully they'll weigh in.

With the billions of dollars pumped into election campaigns, it's odd that a political party wouldn't keep at least a small team on the code to continually test, update, refactor, and generally improve the quality. Fred Brooks, nine women /

Hmm, now I kinda want to use the app to see if/when anything gets posted about me. But I don't want to help this become more of a thing. And I sure as hell don't want to give it access to my Facebook account. Edit: saw the “no boys allowed”

Homebrew is ok, and it has arguably improved the situation on Mac OS X a great deal, but I think we can do better still. Using homebrew, one tweaks recipes in ruby code until they work. Why do we not have a common (and widely adopted!) way

I dislike this whole trend. How about we start thinking in terms of leaving the user's default environment, and system, alone, and “installing” software into nice sandboxed areas where we can easily enable/disable it, or delete it with a si

I personally don't mind unread counts. That aspect really depends on the way you use it. I used to have a ton of unread items sitting in the feed reader; now everything is either immediately discarded or immediately shunted into Pocket. (A

The feature I want on RSS readers: Volume sliders. A volume slider per feed, and perhaps also a global one. If a feed is posting too much stuff, but I still like some of the stuff on it, I'd prefer not to unsubscribe if I had a better optio
