I'd also be very interested in knowing the average power consumption, especially for a device designed to be always on.

This is a very important point. The learning curve for building Arch packages with pacman is ridiculously low compared with RPM or Debian packages. My biggest grief back when I used Arch was the missing support for signed packages. Has ther

One of the few sites, where I don't need to use my iReader chrome extension to read the text. I love the font and the hyphenation using the sweet-justice JS script seems to work out great.

This is the kind of article I come to Hacker News for. A clever hack for a real-world problem with an excellent explanation.

That has been true and still is if you do it manually. There are, however, several scripts assisting you at the install, like this chef cookbook: https://gitorious.org/chef-cookbooks/chef-gitorious

This was my first thought, as well. Looks like I will still go with another layer on top like CoffeeScript to actually write my scripts. Curly braces for blocks are something I don't see the need for anymore, either.

Exactly. I guess the license doesn't really matter a lot in this case, as long as it's some sort of Open Source license. The benefit the companies have by getting their patches merged back in is that they don't necessarily have to maintain

Django is capable but not really what developers expect from MVC, and other MVC frameworks for Python have much less traction. Wow, that's a pretty strong statement. I would like to see some sources for it or at least further explanations

I got the Firefox 7.0 update through the regular update channels a few days after it was on the Mozilla FTP servers. So actually, the update was even before the official release. I have no idea why there was no update available for OP.

There's also a fantastic tool for running those tests headlessly with jasmine-headless-webkit[0]. The benefit is that you can, if you so desire, test against the DOM as there is a complete browser in the background. [0] http://johnbintz.gi

This is such an important advice, it can't be repeated often enough. I can't even count the times making break helped me solve a problem in minutes that I tried before for hours.
