This sounds like a horribly broken development process to me. Is there any article that explains the idea behind this? I would really like to know how this could work.

I used to work on Django project on a Mac. Dependencies like python-mysqldb can be quite tricky to install on OSX, whereas Ubuntu only requires you to type 'apt-get install python-mysqldb' and you're done. More importantly, though, I do not

Agreed. We could the git example a step further and define an alias for it and make 'git che[tab] master' 'git c master'. With an alias as shell level we could even make it 'gc master'. But the real benefits lie in automation of tasks lik

My job requires solving problems. The happier I am, the easier it is, because being worried about anything is quite a distraction. I'm not sure if I work harder when I'm happy, but it's certainly easier to get things done.

You convinced me to give it a try. I'd still be interested in an opposite view. Are there any non-ranty articles about the problems of the language?

SSDs don't benefit from data being sequentially aligned. Random access is just as fast. Also, you should minimize the write access to the disk whenever possible.

Very interesting and - as far as I'm concerned - unique concept, clean design. I really like it so far. Best of luck!

You can, however, abuse this quite nicely for size-optimized javascript demos. For example if you look at some of the http://js1k.com/ submissions. For anything other than those experiments, you should of course avoid.

I'm pretty interested in seeing where Chrome OS will lead us to. I heard a lot of talk lately about moving support and other browser-based jobs to a Chromebook. If Google could gain a foothold in the business world, we could see a shift the

I don't see the problem. Version numbers no longer matter as long as browsers are concerned. IE is an exception, as always.

Also, the demo uses requestAnimationFrame and thus rendering is paused if the tab is in the background.

Depends on your definition of 'clean'. I think Django found a very solid way to handle raw SQL statements[0]. [0] https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/db/sql/

Why is this being downvoted? I assume that this is a question that many might have, if they're not familiar with the complete details. It's certainly discussion-worthy and thus shouldn't be downvoted.

There were attempts to use L4 and several other micro kernels like Coyotos and Viengoos, but as far as I know all of them stalled and the Mach variant has been the only one to be continued to present day.
