Re stevia, apparently how you taste it is determined by how sensitive your bitter taste receptors happen to be. It’s somehow also related to why some people can’t stand cilantro, for example. For me, stevia is simply sweet with no aftertast

Not sure if you are familiar with this part of Canada, but it’s cold and the current temps aren’t close to the record lows. People are used to it.

I had a reasonable collection of Transactor magazine from the ‘80s. They were formative to my childhood and my love of writing software for my C64. But I had to let them go. I found a good and appreciative home for them and freed up some sp

In Go, when you export function names they are capitalised. Eg MyFunc() would be exported and myFunc() is not. This always looks so jarring to me and I’ve avoided Go largely because of it, which must rank as one of the more snowflake reason

An amazing start: “It was quite by accident I discovered this incredible invasion of Earth by lifeforms from another planet. As yet, I haven’t done anything about it; I can’t think of anything to do. I wrote to the Government, and they sent

Often not. On hunting trips where I live, I'm away from all infrastructure on rough terrain for days at a time. I drive a Nissan Frontier and it grinds its way up steep logging roads for hours each day.

It's true that there's scope for an alternate MLS that's just for sale by owner listings. But as someone else mentioned, the buyer often uses an agent (I refuse to use the made-up word "realtor") and you'll hav

Same, we used a notary public for most of the paperwork and a lawyer for a bit of it. I think I calculated that we saved around $20,000.

I just checked mine out of curiosity as well. My last comment was in 2012, when I called someone an idiot for making Slashdot unreadable. So I guess I was part of the problem.
