The article mentions brain plasticity, but I wonder how much of this is also genetic. Using myself as an example, I started reading novels relatively early, mostly skipping the entire YA genre. I clearly remember reading "Jaws", w

Andrew Kelley is just one guy and he’s allowed to express his own political opinions online, just as you are. What evidence is there that the community as a whole is “annoyingly political”?

How is the Zig community political? I use the language but I’m not involved with the community at all.

I strength train two or three times a week and my heart rate last night was 42. I think a low heart rate is at least partly genetic. Definitely agree about the dizziness.

The article mentions the bad guys in this case are Chinese scammers that acquired the newspaper's domain and filled the site with lightly-rewritten articles from legitimate sources.

Yeah, one of my best friends is a beekeeper and we get our honey from him. This led to an uptick in honey consumption around here and perhaps not unrelatedly, I got my first ever cavity about six months ago.

Bluesky awaits your arrival. Unfortunately, there's a lot of the creepy anime avatar crowd there already but luckily the nuclear block exists on that platform.

Protein isn't bad for you and 4-5 chicken breasts is around 120g a day, a healthy amount for an adult. By way of comparison, indigenous people where I live ate hundreds of grams a day in their traditional diets. I've run into this

Literally the only things stopping you from doing this are money (to buy a rural lot somewhere, tools, a truck and so forth) and time. You can learn most of your skills with YouTube and practise, not kidding. Thanks to YouTube, we renovated

Hard to upvote this comment enough. D-Day alone was staggeringly immense, the largest naval, air and land operation in history, likely never to be matched. And the entire thing was basically planned and executed with pen and paper.

Honest question from someone who "armchair invests" in broad-market ETFs: what metrics would I look at for a company like Palantir? I'm not asking for investment lessons. Just your opinion and some links would be fine.
