Is this a recent development? As far as I know they don't even support full POSIX. Simpler software can be ported by recompiling, yes, but I don't think they support Linux binaries, at least not yet.

I don't think fuschia is vaporware. But I think the reason this seems more advanced than Hurd even being a lot younger is (also) because the concepts regarding microkernels have been expanded and solidified a lot since it started.

I'd say the important word there is "team", you use those libraries and frameworks because they are curated ways of doing what you want, reducing friction. If you are coding by yourself, you know everything about the codebase

I work at Red Hat and I doubt that. Red Hat is going to keep being redhat for a long time, and I doubt anything is going to change in that regard. In a sense, I believe that IBM is going to be more red than the Hat will be blue. Disclaimer,

Except that usually 1-month MVPs become 6 to 12 month projects, unfortunately. Making conservative estimates at this stage of the process is the proper way to go, imho.

There are vim packs on vim8, and neoplugin, vundle, vim-plug. Easy to add new plugins, update and so on. And it’s usually just download one file to make it work.
