Well done. I've been thinking we need something like this for our app, but haven't poked around yet. Thanks for making this available.

I love Marcello and am a fan, but this is an emotional, not well thought through reaction. The best leaders, the best organizations, the ones that create excellence, are those that are as good at saying no as they are at saying yes. I've wo

This blast from the past made me poke around some old code. My first shareware app was called TAPES I wrote in high-school. It was a UCSD P-System (Pascal) app that printed J-Cards for cassette tapes (the cards that list what songs are on t

I had two wildly (for me anyway) successful Windows shareware apps in the '80s & '90s. WinPrint[1] and INIedit[2]. They were $25 a pop and I made way more than $10K from them over the years. Each payment (except a few juicy site licens

My memory of that part isn't so great. :-) I seem to recall the WP guy just backing out his approach and going another way. Often times in dev support situations like that, we didn't get to help with the solution: Just the identification of

It's interesting to see the parallels between Android and Windows in this regard. Here's a story from my past, copied from a blog post I wrote last year: My first job at Microsoft was providing developer support for the early Windows SDKs.

It turns out the real challenge in creating excellent things is being as excellent at saying no as you are at saying yes. Learn how to build an organization that can do a few things, really, really well and you will win. The trick is gettin

I call this concept "Ubiservers" for Ubiquitous Servers. The idea is the consumer demand for highly integrated computing devices, based on SoCs, combined with Moore's law being applied to solid-state storage will lead to very small devices

My favorite quote in the video is near the end: "Coding is as close to a superpower as you can get." I feel that.

Shockingly short-sighted post. Apple does not make it's profits from feeds & speeds (e.g. Retina display). It makes its profits, and delights its customers through its vertical integration; its excellence at every point of the customer

This hit us too. The fact that it went down was enough to frustrate me but the fact the portal said everything was ok really pissed me off. We just launched our product the day before!
