Civilisation has had the technology to sustain itself and minimise suffering for a while now. There’s no reason to push further, yet we do.

I’ve used PureGym before, as the author points out the app is terrible, even on a good signal it takes 30s+ to “warm up”, whatever that means. I don’t want the app to “warm up”, I want the QR code right now, I’m left standing outside the gy

So why can’t they learn? We have Google, we have Stack Overflow, we have LLMs. My cynical take is that there’s just nobody there who gives a shit about the UX, most likely the team that built all of their backend stuff is long gone (quit or

With iCloud encryption being no longer offered in the UK, and Apple having already built the infrastructure needed to fingerprint and snitch on users possessing specific images, erasing events from the citizens' devices is entirely pos

I live in Japan at the moment and from what I've observed, people enjoy the night a lot more than in London. I'm 24 and almost never see people my age in central London - it's simply too expensive for anyone to really hang ou

I use SimpleLogin aliases via my Proton subscription. But I'm terrified of what happens if I lose access to my Proton account, either because I get banned or the company disappears into a black hole. It would be a personal disaster to

Yes, it would be disastrous for OpenAI if it got out they are training on B2B data despite saying they don’t.

I don’t think OpenAI train on data processed via the API, unless there’s an exception specifically for this.

People have this weird idea that you must drink a certain amount of fluid per day or be reminded to drink every so often. Like no, if you need water, you will be thirsty. If you feel the need to drink then drink, it’s not complicated.

I mean, even PornHub (owned by MindGeek, practically a porn conglomerate) had to bend to the whim of payment processors. I’d argue we have a bigger problem than porn and porn access - we have a duopoly that can exercise financial control ov

I was initially optimistic about Bitchat but after investigating it does just seem to be an early hobby project. We need more than individual apps meshing via Bluetooth. I’m doubtful Bitchat will ever be used outside of a group of nerds at

I often miss entire files in the review process because the review page collapses them by default and makes them hard to spot. If they’re going to be collapsed by default at least make it very visible. This is critical for security too, you
