I find it allows my eyes to easily find the beginning of the next sentence which allows me to read faster, since I can scan information in sentence-long chunks, then pause briefly to process the meaning before scanning the next sentence.

This is reminiscent of the short story I, Pencil [1], which was written in 1958 about the very same topic. > I am seemingly so simple. Simple? Yet, not a single person on the face of this earth knows how to make me. This sounds fantast

Locking files is critical when you are editing binary data which can't be merged - which in the games industry, is generally how the majority of the dev team works.

After losing my wallet several times and not having a clue when the last time I had it on me was, I implemented a similar system. I now habitually triple tap my three designated pockets for phone, wallet, keys, every time I walk through a d

What gave me the intuition for it was to realise that Monty is giving you the choice to either stick with your original door, or take the sum of the prizes between the other two doors. (He also opens one of those two doors to reveal a goat,

Yes, most video cards these days can run 3-4 monitors using DP. Make sure you check the stats on the specific cards you buy. https://multimonitorcomputer.com/index.php is a good resource.

This is such a bizarre idea. I have 7 monitors on my home office - 6 24" in a 2x3 grid and a 27" widescreen vertically beside them. I use them all. It's so nice to have my IDE, documentation, 2 terminals, CI status, Slack, mu

That's what my first marriage was like. I told myself it was a great relationship because we never argued, but really I just deferred to her on every decision and went out of my way to avoid any conflict.

I built a dependency checker that worked similarly to this once. By hooking the filesystem calls, you can make a list of all files that a given process touches. When that process finishes, serialize a dependency file containing the hashes,

My favorite example of something similar to this, since you brought it up: >>> a = [254, 255, 256, 257, 258] >>> b = [254, 255, 256, 257, 258] >>> for i in range(5): print(a[i] is b[i]) ... True True
