I'm doing the Hugo list now! Just about at the end of Speaker for the Dead. A Canticle for Leibowitz was the first ones that I really enjoyed. Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead are up there too but my absolute favorite so far

I built kcal[0] after a similar search. The focus is primarily on macros and ultimately I kind of lost steam on developing further (though we still use it to great success). A part of why lost interest is that I didn’t like PHP + Laravel a

I was going to suggest this is an over generalization but interestingly when searching for example images you seem to be right — every image I looked at had things like “vegan” or “soy” in much smaller letters than things like SAUSAGE or C

Seems like it simply boils down to compensation and OKRs based on yearly cycles[0], weirdly. Seems most of the comments after that are just unhappy with the lack of a monthly option. [0] https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gi

I assume Shopify’s position there is that the email address provided with the app is probably visible to end users somewhere and could cause confusion. The policy itself seems reasonable enough just shitty enforcement.

Using a catch-all domain _was a mistake for me_ would be a more appropriate title here. I’ve been using a catch all for years now and have had nothing but amusing and fun interactions and discussions with folks about my email addresses. Peo

Thanks. I’ll check that out. I liked Fly better overall than Render but I bailed on it pretty quickly when I didn’t see a PR environment option in the settings.

Is there a service that provides something like Heroku’s PR deployments in a free tier (for open source development)? While Heroku was out I took a look at Fly.io and Render.com but neither one quite fits the same use case. Fly does not ha

It’s interesting how all this plays out at the individual level. My employer is reopening as a “hybrid” workplace this week but teams also have the freedom to choose their own approach (including staying remote) for now. Some people are thr

I'm a huge fan of the plain text share functionality that Wordle uses (introduced?). Loving it in the various clones that are coming out as well and I hope it becomes a common "simple share" approach in other applications.

Nice — in a similar realm I made kcal[0] to scratch a very specific itch for myself and my spouse. Our diet is mostly plant based but we both also do a lot of weight training and running so we needed something for close tracking of macros.
