I think one of the best things I've done is try a lot of different jobs. Wide experience on how different companies approach problems can really make you a super-generalist. It also keeps your tech fresh as you will learn lots of dif

This just reminds me of the composer Soyo Oka, who did the music for some great games, like SimCity (SNES), SimCity (NES, unreleased), Super Mario Kart (SNES), Pilotwings (SNES), etc. She said that in making the SimCity music she wanted it

I'd suggest reading this: https://techinterviewhandbook.org/ This is a good general website that I think covers the various stages, including what happens once people actually want to interview you. Don't worry a

I don't know if I'd call it cheap, but more a great value. My Aeron chair. Had it for 7 years now, bought it new for about $1000. Best chair ever and has helped with a lot of posture problems.

As much as I hate child abuse (and I really do) I don't like the privacy aspects of this. I feel like this could also be troubling in that people who send you unsolicited images / emails / texts with pictures that might be d

As terrible and backward as this sounds, I wonder if who wants to take the spot next needs to clean up after the first person. Given the limited number of available slots for certain orbits like geosync, it might make sense to send somethi

Totally agree here. Especially since a lot of the newer projectors and movies I think are digital formats. There's a local art theater here that is excellent that does a lot of older movies and movie marathons. But I think also gett

I've actually seen it more the other way - like they ask you what you want, and if you say, then they will be like okay how about 90% of that? I had one job offer where I absolutely nailed the interview and basically walked out with a

I think it depends if you also consider bad management to be a fire (it's more like a flamethrower though). But in that case, probably at least 50. In terms of tech fires, maybe 5? Although sometimes I get other people's fires.

I think what makes me the most crazy is this cult about being a founder. And it's all about the glitz, the glamour, the headshots, the "40 under 40" and all that. It's rarely about results, either business or social.
