I think if they added curvatures it would make the multi-touch gestures hard to use. Hard to do a 3-finger swipe on a curved surface because your fingers would still need to be at an angle to the surface causing you to unnaturally bend you

Eh, depends on the person. I prefer smaller keyboards like the happy hacker keyboard. Apple has a bluetooth version of it which I love. I prefer keyboards that are laptop-style (shallow key depth).

Running flash content on a PC bought around 2003 is actually pretty choppy. I installed Windows 7 on an old Athlon 1.6 ghz machine a month ago and tried to watch youtube with it -- the videos looked like they were going around 8 fps. I ca

And I don't think the lawyer will have a problem with this. I've never seen a lawyer with moral obligations :-). You want to chat with this lawyer, that's a $250 fee for the first 5 minutes.

It's the one thing I love about chrome -- when flash crashes, I just hit reload. It happens about once a day for me. One time flash crashed so hard, no other flash sites would work until I rebooted the computer.

I understand that you're trying to push your point, but I feel it's a bit pointless trying to defend someone who knowingly sold stolen goods for $5k. The finder did not contact Apple, the bar where it was found, or the original owner. I c

well... if you're a hacker with control to a botnet, then yeah, just tell the botnet to vote no. The 'no' votes will come in so fast that it will crash the servers.

How many unreleased iPhones have you lost and gotten returned using this method? I think the person who found the lost phone knew exactly who it belonged to, but decided to resell it for $5000 instead of returning it.

There are dozens of physical keyboard addons for the iPhone. Apple doesn't prevent any of these 3rd party addons from working. So if some business really wanted a physical keyboard for the iPhone for their employees, they could make it ha

I'm not sure -- Apple sold as many iPod Touch models as iPhones. Considering that they still sell iPod classic, nano, and shuffle, someone at Apple probably has the data that shows that it's still necessary to sell all these other models.

Apple fatigue? The ipod mania has lasted almost 10 years... my sister wants to upgrade her ipod nano to an ipod touch because her nano "feels" old. I have a feeling the ipod will still have a good share of the mp3 music player market for

Doubtful -- those who don't know the underlying reasons will still look at one thing: their stock price / market cap. Adobe has an unstable stock price over 2yrs with a 20bn market cap and Apple has a hockey stick stock price over 2yrs wit

MP3 players were pretty boring until the iPod came into the scene. I've still yet to see the iPod Killer; the first iPod came on the market in 2001 and 9 years later, nobody has done anything better yet!

My grandfather could never figure out how to use the mouse. Even after we did a hand-holding training, he just wasn't able to figure out how to do anything. He gets the iPad though -- it's just touch here, then touch there. There are no

Yeah? Who made the iPod killer? The iPod has been around for a long time now, why hasn't anyone come up with something decent that competes with it yet?

I really don't understand a lot of these product comparisons. They read like every other iPod killer out there. All the iPod killers have more storage, FM receivers, smaller, more battery life, etc -- but they all had one thing in common:

One also needs to keep in mind that there are more iPod Touches sold than iPhones currently. It's much easier to drop $200 for an iPod Touch if you want to upgrade your current music player and don't want a phone contract to go with it...

You can do mixins fairly easily in ObjC, but in Java, you'd essentially have to resort to runtime bytecode rewriting. Take a look at what popular libraries like Hibernate, Spring, AspectJ use under the covers to perform their magic.

I doubt this. Any language could compile to Java, but that doesn't mean the performance will be the same. Technically, every language compiles down to assembly, but only apps written in assembly can compare in speed usually.

Most of the tweaks in the blog article have little to do with SSD. I seriously doubt any of the tweaks in the article will have any longer term effects on the actual usage of the SSD.
