I agree with this as well... I'm sure Apple wants more apps for the Mac, and if someone were to create a 3D modeling tool targeted for iPhone apps that could produce cross platform Android apps, they'd welcome it into their Mac family.

erm, you know that battery tech hasn't changed much in the last 20 something years right? With USB 3.0 supporting 1 amp devices, I think we'll be seeing more power hungry usb devices than ones that can run on a battery pack. Bluetooth was

You mean Apple has stopped looking out for the interest of it's developers... If anything, Apple listens to their users better than any of their competitors. Try convincing an average 17 year old girl to buy an android/zune over an ipod t

um, what does morality have to do with this? Apple's rules are not immoral. It's their platform and they're not a monopoly. If you don't like it, choose a different one.

you're preaching to the choir already. I'm pretty sure we're all in agreement on how sucky the Flash runtime is already.

ObjC is more expressive than you think. It has the same metaphors of duck typing that ruby/python/javascript have come to adopt. You can do mixins & monkey patching very easily with ObjC as well. I would say ObjC rates very well in t

Since you're in the SF Bay Area, you should hang around the Hacker Dojo and see if there are any takers. Generally speaking, there are pretty good developers there and they don't charge and arm&leg for development.

Actually there isn't as much competition as you think. There are more employers here in the Bay Area than there are available employees to hire. The only way to get employees for a new company here is to snipe employees from another compa

I often wonder about these city rankings -- every year they change their ranking algorithm. Olathe wasn't even ranked in 2009. If you're a geek, you'll probably hate Olathe though. One good simple measurement is counting the number of nea

The jsonp method causes older browsers to use a ton of memory if you leave the browser window open for a long period of time. You'll see that there's a whole bunch of script tags in the dom that aren't cleaned up. Given the way people use

You should try Webkit's debugger (and not chrome's). It's fast and stable. Chrome's debugger is getting there, but is still missing some basic stuff compared to webkit/firebug. I rarely find syntax a problem though -- javascript syntax is
