Unfortunately our (speaking as a Canadian) system doesn't seem to be truly liberal or democratic. Every five years or so, we elect a parliamentary elite selected for us by the Toronto business community. The the parliament does its bes

I suggest you take a look at Project Euler [0]. It's a bunch of math puzzles that usually require programming to solve. In order to solve most problems in a reasonable amount of time, you'll need to use results from number theory

I think there are two main kinds of criticism here; the first comes from people who think a lot of published work is misleading at best and fraudulent at worst (see replicability crisis); the second comes from people who think there's

I've been spending too much time on HN; when I read 'Enchidrion', my first thought was that was a new cryptocoin.

I don't have kids and I don't know anybody who has kids on ADHD medication, so I'm ignorant about this, but I have a hard time believing that people put their kids on stimulants without knowing what these drugs are and what t

What's the difference between a re-education camp and a concentration camp? Under what circumstances could Chinese treatment of Uighurs be considered genocide? Is there a red line of moral outrage that if crossed, would result in a boy

Well shit. I guess teaching languages designed by academicians aren't for you. Same goes for blog posts written by random amateurs on the internet. A whole three tutorials, too! You should ask for a refund.

Well, after a few tutorials you should have noticed that it's a high-level language with clean syntax and a compiler that produces relatively fast binaries. That's a start. What else were you expecting?

I am not qualified to speak authoritatively on this matter, but here's how I see it: Psychopaths are mutant parasites. They lack certain abilities that enable them to integrate well into human groups and would not survive well in the p

From what little I've gathered about the subject, I think so. Spiking neural networks would be orders of magnitude more energy efficient than deep neural networks for image and audio processing. The main hurdle lies in designing networ
