It seems there are some ham radio operators here, I hope someone can help: I'd like to get introduced in this world, is there some guide I can read to know what I'll need to learn and which equipment I'd need to buy in order

I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, but I honestly believe you're missing the point. Bots will triumph not because of technical reasons, but rather because they are what people want. If you let me a self-plug, here's a

Thanks for the summary, I just read the article and I feel like you touched the main points. Regarding survival, I also noticed it, surprising. Could you define "survival rate" for someone who's not in the field? Does it mean

Nowadays it's almost a meme to hate on VB, but I wrote my first desktop application with VB6 when I was in high school, circa 2000. I knew Basic and a bit of Pascal, but the GUI builder of VB captivated me. It was so easy to create thi

I'm sorry if it looked like I had a hard time. It wasn't hard, just long. I consider writing production code of a new language with a different paradigm in just two weeks a success! I agree with web servers, check my reply below.

Author here, I definitely agree. I tried to learn Phoenix just after Elixir, and I just couldn't do it. Now I've written a couple of simple web apps with Plug, and realized that I don't need Phoenix for most of my use cases.

I can understand that different teams use Slack differently. However, I assume you did manage to work before Slack existed, right? I'm not saying this sarcastically. We sometimes forget that there are many different ways to produce the

Wait, is Slack now so "mainstream" that it's problematic and the cool thing to do is to get off it? > "The longest I can go without checking it even if I'm incredibly busy is probably 10-15 minutes." Well...

Given that the original title "Refresh hangs indefinitely, appstreamcli using 100% CPU" wouldn't probably have made the front page, yes, I'd say it has been editorialised for added sensationalism, like "failing all

That's true. The implementation differs on the country, for example in the UK it is enough to just show the annoying banner. Here in Spain you cannot set any tracking cookie (i.e. Analytics) without explicit consent. Of course, governm

Funny how ICQ was, what, 20 years early to the IM revolution? Slack nowadays is a mixture of IRC and ICQ. It was wonderful to be able to talk for free (well, paying dialup minutes) with the 3 friends you might had online, plus that guy on t

I'm always interested in orgmode, but for TODOs and tasks I need ubiquitous access, a mobile app, and the ability to delegate tasks. Is there any way to do that (e.g. using a bridge app) with org-mode?
