My favourite moment was when fedora turned on CGroups v2 after every distro waited years for docker to update to it. Docker was broken on fedora until you manually turned v1 back on but then docker suddenly upgraded to support v2.

All these things hardly cost anything compared to the major expenses of utilities, housing, and food. This is less useful for saving money (although still useful) and more about saving the environment and getting rid of stuff you no longer

I don't think this is really such a bad thing. You wouldn't have bothered selling these things because its too much work for too little reward. Now someone has dedicated themselves to redistributing these things to others who want

Why don't you just untick notifications on the app?

The AW has a control center which can be accessed via a swipe up. From there you can tap the bed icon and you will not receive notifications anymore. You can also dig deeper in to the phone app and stop each app from showing notifications o

What is reputable? So many once reputable extensions get sold to malware makers for huge sums of money so you not only have to find someone who will not add malware, but someone who will reject $1M purely on ethics.

Someone on hacker news commented about how they started watching the news 2 weeks after it was broadcast and mentioned how a massive amount of the breaking news ended up being false when viewed later with the full set of information. It wou

Wikipedia has a bunch of power user tools that are not very clear to the average user. Power users also have the ability to lock hot topic pages so only other power users can touch them.

Usually when you build a clone, you base it on fixing the problems of the original? What problems in wikipedia could a clone possibly fix since the main issues with wikipedia is getting people to agree on what should be included and I don&#

Wikipedia is not a place to catch up on the latest news or scandals as this stuff is usually hotly debated and often the truth isn't known for some time anyway. They usually do have pretty good summaries of the issues years after they

I took a look at those two pages and they are not equivalent. Wikipedia lists out a bunch of facts, demographics, and important details on the area. The towns own site is not to focused on collecting facts but more on directing people in t

I have never been able to find a wikipedia topic I could contribute to. The problem is the topics which don't have pages on wikipedia also don't tend to have a lot of referencable information on the internet.

The api should not be insecure and able to be abused (and it largely is very secure today). Sure they might be able to violate some ToS items like embedding their own payment processor but they won't compromise the security of the phon

>"okay I'll do it when I have X Y and Z" This is pretty strongly related to a desire for consumerism. Most of us constantly make the mistake of thinking "I'm going to buy X which will make me start doing Y"

I tried to do the math as well and I can't see how 60k steps on average works. From what I can see online your 2 steps per second is somewhat on the slow end but even at an ideal speed (apparently 180 steps per minute / 3 per seco

I guess the problem is the higher ups know not to put any of this on record and the new person doesn't know that they should be recording this info so when it gets investigated its all "I never told him to do that".

The problem is management can just abuse this by saying something like "Dispose of these chemicals safely, you have 5 minutes to be back". The manager clearly said to do it safely but 5 minutes only leaves time to dump them unsafe
