Wow, 2 posts in and we may have a winner already! That’s really, really bad. I have a friend (well, not anymore) who worked for Palantir for a long time and was very proud of it, and I was gonna ask him if he regrets anything, but this is a

I live in the Pacific Northwest so we do in fact tip out the kitchen quite a bit. In other countries, there are guaranteed rights that we don’t have in the US and especially not in the service industry.

I would be fine with getting rid of tips if we could get our labor laws up to the standards of the rest of the world, but until then we’re going to have tips.

You literally don’t have to think about it. Just tip 20% every time you’re at a bar or restaurant. That’s it. It’s a way for us to make better money. If that 20% was included and hidden I know you wouldn’t care as much, but it makes it toug

$18 cocktails are pretty expensive. I work at a brewery so I’m not used to that.

If that happened to me I’d try and look for work elsewhere, but I know it’s not that easy (especially if you don’t live in a city).

As a bartender, I know that I will make more money from tips than any business owner would ever pay me, even if prices were raised 20+% and tipping was removed. I’d rather risk a slow shift with less tips than work a job with a slightly hig

No, the cops didn’t suddenly magically change after Boudin was elected (and recalled). They don’t care.

Why would you ever drive in such a city? The public transit is fantastic.

I wish. Stern Pinball has been doing this too (accepting deposits and then raising the price before delivery).

I had to immediately pre-order all 3 of the vinyl reissues. It's really sad to hear that Mizutani was interested in a reunion just months before he died, but to even learn that much is pretty interesting.

I’m disappointed by these comments. Johnny Cash said he “shot a man in Reno just to watch him die” but never got in trouble. But when people of color do it, they can get sent to prison (Young Thug is right now).

This doesn’t really strike me as private conversation. Jack was probably just telling Elon because he probably didn’t know about the protocol comments. I follow Twitter pretty closely and I didn’t know he said that.

I think the Korg Minilogue xd is the best synth for the price. I also have several pocket operators, an Elektron Model:Samples (eh), and I’m borrowing my friend’s Volca Modular (which is pretty sweet).

Adventure games have always been a somewhat specific genre. Whether through text , 2D, or 3D, they're generally puzzle-driven, choose-your-own-adventure style narrative outings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent

What an interesting article. In 2004, I also agreed that adventure games were dead, and I was 15 at the time. As it turns out, we were both right. I loved the famous ones, like Myst and Monkey Island, along with a bunch of random games (doe
