Did you try cleaning everything and re-mounting the cooler with new paste? I’ve seen similar behavior when people mess up and get bubbles in their paste. Do you see wildly different temperature readouts for different cores?

Aha, you are proving my point about how misleading Apple’s communications are about this! By default, iCloud backups are “secured” by a key that Apple stores and controls. This means that both Apple and anyone who can compel or hack Apple c

I’m always hesitant to jump straight to ringing the racism bell when it comes to problems that arise from fundamental physics. I have dark skin, and I constantly struggle with automatic faucets, soap dispensers, and towel dispensers in publ

It’s a perfect illustration of the way these models work. They are fundamentally incapable of original creation and imagination, they can only regurgitate what they have already been fed.

Your argument about iMessage on Mac’s holds water, but the iPhone is sold as an appliance and there is no concept of a file system presented to the user. They sell the messaging platform as “encrypted” and the word “encrypted” is plastered

How do you handle the existential threat of relying on one product of one company (in this case Google search indexing)? Do you just hope for the best? Do you set limits on how much you will invest in your tool? Do you do some kind of fancy

As the images in your Reddit threads hilariously point out, you really shouldn’t believe everything you see on the internet, especially when it comes to AI generated content. Here is another example: https://www.thehour.com/

It would be extremely irresponsible to use these current tools as a real customer service agent, and it might even be criminally negligent to have these programs dispense medical care.

The link is broken. On HN (or any forum really) it is expected for a brief description of the content to be provided when posting a link. Links die all the time, but forum posts don’t have to die with them.
