I don’t know what your service is but that’s enough traffic that you likely find a willing buyer? I recently discovered that there is a pretty active market in people buying/selling smaller businesses and websites like this. Whether yo

Basically Elon is the largest shareholder. If he wants to join the board, that is best for Twitter and Elon. If he doesn’t want to, that is also best. Whatever he wants is best because he is the biggest shareholder.

This entire comment is baseless ad-hominem and psychological speculation. It offers no useful point, and does nothing to advance the discourse.

< Is that a common strategy? Yes. And it’s a good one. Even from the point of view of job satisfaction. The more $ you are paid, the more expensive it is for the company to waste your time. Also, it means you are working with other hi

Try making friends w some people in their late 30s / 40s and have a few beers away from bosses… I bet the charade comes off and you can meet some actual humans.

My fear here is: US government tells Elon to do this. Elon says no, I won’t build actual weapons. US government nationalises SpaceX. Now SpaceX is as effective as the US government (ie not at all) and can no longer produce anything useful.

It’s worse than that: the only people who hang around are the ones they probably wouldn’t want. Their hiring model is theoretically a bell curve but when you cut off the top percentiles it severely affects the resulting performance (ie you

Anyone have experience being remote cofounders in the very beginning of a startup? In my case it’s someone I know well but we would be located in different cities. Would love to talk to anyone who has experience with this.

Two things to think about: 1. Maybe steady-state “feeling happiness” isn’t a good goal? Like, so what if you “feel happy?” If that’s all you want, opiates are widely available. Maybe a better set of goals would be “peak satisfaction” combin

This is great news! Twitter and the rest of the rotten and censorious platforms could use a proper shake-up. Hope the authoritarians and political repressives and anyone who works on the content moderation team all resign in protest! Goo

Real-world situations aren’t binary. They don’t just automatically go to the extreme edge case. It’s a common mistake of programmers whose brains are trained to think that way (mine included!) So when the government is bad people who hav

This sounds like you are exactly the manager the article is about: who will not identify poor performance for what it is, and reframes it as an ego/communication/other character problem (usually on the part of the high performer).
