I believe this is why the author referred to it as "executive wisdom". As in, executives often believe or were taught this mentality as wisdom. The way its used, it reads as a bit of a euphemism.

Would you ever expect that for anything? There are always going to be disgruntled employees/customers. if I see 100% positive, I'm usually looking for the scam.

I love how they say the content that users dislike is "relevant to the recipe", rather than admitting its SEO fodder.

You aren't addressing the question. The poster asked what specifically tech workers could do. You are giving examples of things _anyone_ could so to help fix the situation, aside from "just stop working for them".

I think you are misreading the parent comments. The authors are saying they believe it should be a crime, that the action is bad enough that it should be criminal.

Phenomenal idea! Really great approach to forum UX. I sincerely hope you keep working on this, I'd love to see how it evolves.

In the end its going to be very much like influenza. We get yearly flu shots primarily because the flu is different variants every year, and secondarily because over time immunity lowers.

Its not easy, but I agree with the above poster on this - it can be learned. Maybe we all have different approaches. Here's one of my tricks: When stepping away from a technical task, I often jot down a bunch of notes that really only

You were supposed to expect them to fail his interview because he didn't give the "right" answer (manhole covers are round so they can't fall in the hole). Instead, he completely disagreed with the "right" answ

That was actually fun to think through for a minute. Easy, but I can see how a young me nervous at an interview might have stumbled. Its why I hate those things. They aren't testing analytical or creative ability, they are testing grac

The docs seem very light on actual examples of writing/structuring syntax or outputs - does anyone know of an example generated site in the wild?

Sure, but the idea of mass collective action is always a bit of a nuclear option, because it takes a huge bit of motivation to actually make _everyone_ do anything. So, could they? Sure. Will they en masse? No. Everyone could have stolen ca

So wait, your solution is to encourage all consumers to break the law and put themselves at legal risk, rather than have reasonable legislation focused on consumer welfare and encouraging competition?

Conversely, if proton is creating a much larger linux gamer market (its on of the big reasons I switched to linux as my daily driver), might this new market not soon be able to exert pressure on developers for first-class linux ports? Bit o

There's a fine line between presenting your ideas in a clear and effective manner, and "framing" the presentation in a way that makes it more likely others will agree with you (a manipulative technique). Think of a good sales

Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but "praise in public, punish in private" is a saying for a reason. Praise is more effective in public, and praising one person on the team publicly benefits the entire team, not just th

NPR listeners != large percentage of the general public. Also, people believe what they see, on an instinctual level. Hell, people believe what they hear, mostly. It will take a lot of education and time to untrain that.

Exactly. Don't complain about someone being a jerk to you if you didn't get a restraining order against them. If you want to restrict them interacting with you, get a restraining order. Very simple and obvious.

Think of it this way - often when people become extremely wealthy, they turn to philanthropy. Because they want to give back. If someone becomes ridiculously wealthy and gives nothing back, we as a society tend to think poorly of them. Why?
