I think this is a good trend. The opening of raw data AND the code used to analyse it will aid in others being able to find errors sooner.

Years ago I used to use CCleaner and their disk defragmentor tool. Now I too am on Windows 10 and use neither, still it's sad to see this sort of thing happen to what I remember being decent free software.

also means that we cant composer install any project because even if the requirement is cached, each item is checked against github to see if the cached version should be invalidated :/ just took half an hour to complete an install...
