Your description of Minimum Viable Product appears to classify the MVP as the end-point of the process. My thinking is that the MVP is the starting point of an iterative development process. Its value is that it allows users to participate

Participating in a distributed denial of service attack is not necessarily illegal. There has to be some intent on the part of the visitor to cause damage. You could get involved in one just by innocently visiting a malicious web page which

My computer programmer approach to design is that you sort the elements of your page (logo, title text, main text, navigation etc) into order of importance. The order you want your visitor to read them. Delete unimportant elements or move t

They seem to have two different algorithms. One is given a position and it gives you the optimal solution, the fewest moves to solve that position. This is the God Algorithm. And a different, much faster, algorithm that given a position fin

I suppose they should be allocated based on frequency of use within the intended domain of the language, with the most frequent getting first choice. I guess pointer dereferencing would be more important than xor for most domains. Not that

That would invert the use in Pascal where P := @X; means assign the address of X to P. And Y := P^; means dereference P and assign the result to Y. I think anyone who has written any Pascal/Delphi would prefer ^ for dereference.

We only need a ball-park estimate of the distance between keys not an exact measurement. Anything better than random should be an improvement.

I agree. It does not depend on key distribution. Nor on the type of the key. But we do need to be able to estimate this (key - min) / (max - min) where the variables are all keys and we want the expression to give a number between

I restate a previous comment I made on the subject which agrees with this position. This article http://www.computorney.com/anonarticle.htm concludes that "anonymity in cyberspace is a fundamental underpinning of democracy". In 1995 the S

When you sold the site to Condé Nast they became your customer. Looking after your customers is the number one priority of any business. So it is totally correct that you made sure they received a good product and got the best from it.

Yes, I was thinking about it in broader terms of the total bandwidth consumed on the web by these things. Say, for sake of argument, it's 10% of the total traffic. Now what does that traffic cost, and how much more money could the companies

Yes, you are right, they are selling something based on providing a partial solution to a very small piece of the problem, and something like that ought to be able to produce stats.

The bradley_outline.png background image on this page is 617KB in size. About ten times bigger than it needs to be. I wonder how much web bandwidth is wasted by poorly optimised images. Maybe there is a business opportunity in an automated

That is assuming you are comparing the speed against C. I rewrote one into short, sweet style and found it was much faster than python and ruby. The only frustration was being unable to get the code shorter than the ruby version. Note that
