I had an N-Gage, the first phone I talked on in stereo using headphones (obviously). It was probably the best portable device I ever had. Musicplayer, console, stereo phone!!! So much ahead of it's time it even makes a modern "sma

I agree about re-inventing anything. What people really mean when the say "don't reinvent the wheel" is "don't copy the wheel": http://move.rupy.se/file/wheel.jpg

I downgraded to low profile passive MSI 1030 DDR5. Anything above 30W is overkill.

I put downvolted fans that are inaudible on my passive setups. That way I get both silence and longevity. The added benefit that if the fan dies the hardware lives. My thumb rule for temperatures is if you can hold your finger on it indefin

Streacom cases are great but the cube has an unwieldy shape to fit anywhere but on a desk. I opted for the flat version: http://move.rupy.se/file/xeon_1030.png

We're going from semiconductor shortage to assembly shortage. The real shortage is energy, and that is why the US HAS the strangle the dollar liquidity. FIAT money is only worth something if it's backed by scarcity and violence. I

The problem with this is that you still have to calculate the VAT for each customer manually and submit that to your tax agency and transfer those funds. For now there are ONLY 2 (non stupid) alternatives that do that dirty work for you: -

Raspberry 4 has 2Gflops/W on 28nm where M1 has 2.5 on 5!!! There wont be a next paradigm shift. DRR3 > DDR4 > DDR 5 > DDR6 in latency. Multicore is leveraged fully, it's the end of electric transistors. Memory has been sl

You don't understand, the hardware we got 2017-2019 is peak forever. M1-2 are brittle and controlled, the opposite of open/repairable etc. ARM, Atom, Xeon from this period can last 100 years. If you don't have this hardware,

That is what I mean with eternal growth... how can you missunderstand that? Raspberry 4 has 2Gflops/W where M1 has 2.5!!! Pandemic is not the problem. Energy and money is the problem. Edit: Premise = Promise yes.

TLS 1.3 is not more secure then TLS 1.2 Now Mojang and Rockstar (on azure) have disabled TLS 1.2 on their servers on purpose to lockout Windows 7. Windows 10 offers NOTHING of value compared to Windows 7.

Everything can be predicted if you understand energy. Companies can't survive in a peak world without manufacturing crap. Sell more because your tools break. So now they are looking at how to do that under the premise of eternal growth

A better way to solve this problem is to move the world around the origin instead. Just like you had to with OpenGL 1! Really half-floats are more interesting, saving 50% memory on the GPU for mesh data. You could imagine using half-floats

I think it's still not pushing anything to the grid, it has just reached crusing power: "Regular production is expected to begin in December 2022."
