Amusingly the lenses are worse than silicon at transmitting that wavelength. 1550nm might be worse for sensors because a good portion of the light is only being dumped into the metal layers - pure silicon is mostly transparent to 1550nm. No

The level of work that goes into even “small” games is pretty incredible. When I was a grad student another student was doing their (thesis based, research focused) masters while working at EA on a streetfighter(?) game. The game programmin

I have a little rust script that uses the built in vision toolkit to do ocr of pdfs, it spins up the ANE to a full 1W compared to 0 as measured by the power profiler. So it is used! IMO, It’s a very apple strategy, stuff just works and is s

Yep, it’s a 2 way learning street - you can learn new things from non native speakers, and they can learn from you as well. Any kind of auto Translation removed this. (It’s still important to have for non fluent people though!)

This happens so much! It’s actually imo much more important to be able to let the math go and compare concepts vs. the exact algorithms. It’s much more useful to have semantic intuition than concrete analysis. Being really good at math does

Necro reply - I don't think they actually shipped it with ECC... If you lookup a Z1 mina G1a repair video: https://youtu.be/1i_PfH05ekw?si=MpQ0Uc9QVwhgsFzi&t=267 It has 8 chips, not 10. It needs 10 from true ECC.

Yes, if they did not solder on the memory it would use more power. The longer the lines are to your DRAM, the more impedance there is and you need higher drive power on your memory controller. LPDDR has been soldered forever as far as I kno

It’s a good point but there might be a pretty big difference in force because the ladled pint of water is not contained on any axis. A pint of water in a cup, with up as the only exit, subjected to the full current of a 3 phase 480v circuit

I was like, this seems like a small machine could automate a lot of it, now that the number of steps are down to around what ECN2 film dev requires… Of course, that’s what they are doing it seems! https://atomicsemi.com/

Perhaps, I have yet to experience anything like what the older games had though. It might just be the game too - I do think the auto aim is a bit high because I feel like I make aimbot like shots from time to time. And depending on the mode

Speaking of Anti-Cheat and secure boot, you need SB for Battlefield 6. The game won't start without it. So it's happening! I don't hate the lack of cheating compared to older Battlefield games if I am going to be honest.

People learning to code always have had those questions and issues though. For example, “git ate my code’ or “I don’t believe in python using white space as a bracket so I’m going to end all my blocks with #endif”

Indeed, it makes mini computers with soldered ram actually end up being quite cheap by comparison. HP will currently sell you 128GB AMD or Nvidia boxes for 1.7-2.8k depending on your flavor of choice. Not ECC though.

It's not - ECC RAM still means real, between the RAM and CPU ECC. It's literally an extra 8 bits per channels, for an extra 16 bits per dim. 40 bits vs 32.

Which is why vacuum flask for hot/cold drinks are a thing/work. Empty space is a pretty good insulator as it turns out. It’s a little worrying so many don’t know that.
