To a physicalist, the only way to interpret the question "why am I me and not someone else?" is "why is my physical body identical to my physical body and not identical to another physical body?". The framework simply do

I was referring to the observing component itself being an illusion (as a split-brain patient seemingly has two of those). If that component is also a byproduct of physical processes, then your “observer” being attached to your body is self

Experiments done on corpus callosotomy patients [0] give us some very interesting insights on how consciousness works. IMO, these experiments strongly point towards consciousness being mostly, if not entirely, an illusion created by the bra

It is the simplest one-sentence argument for physicalism! If consciousness is a purely physical phenomenon, then it should be no surprise that everyone with a healthy brain has one, including you. If it isn’t, then what supernatural event

We might be bad at generating uniform, independent random numbers, but I submit that we’re still capable of generating some true randomness. Perhaps take the best of both worlds and mix in new entropy at each step? Something like, take

I’m pretty sure a lot of the discoloration comes from pigments/microplastics from the clothes rubbing against the wall. Look how dark the shoulders of these “ghosts” are. If it were just grease, you’d expect the head part to be darkest
