This post and this comment section both feel to me like they’re from a parallel universe where no one knows that LOC isn’t a measure of quality but a cost. You want to keep it as low as possible while solving the problem at hand. As a matter of fact, you can often increase the quality of the product by removing code.
Typing fast won’t make you a better programmer. It will only encourage you to type before you think. It is amazing how much can be done with how little code if you give your brain a chance to actually process what you’re doing. I highly recommend it.
- topaz0 3y agoI feel obliged to point out that the post explicitly says that the benefits of fast typing for them has nothing to do with being able to produce more LOCs/sentences.
