I like your first point, though your 2nd and 3rd points tell me you haven't applied for a while :) They've all adopted the google model, small or big companies it doesn't matter. You start with a 45 minute technical phone scr

This sounds like a typical scenario - software developer position in 2017 = Micro-managed and treated like resource - no creativity, just productivity - small startup where you own %0.1 of the company while the CEO and CTO get %99.9 It'

That's what happens when you move away from the standard technologies. You should look for a smart frontend dev instead who could learn a new framework easily. Search for a Frontend/php or frontend/javascript developer. You&#

Yes it is, way too many candidates out there right now. The number of jobs hasn't changed, there are still looking for web, mobile, backend and all the basic roles. Companies have the luxury to say no to who ever the heck they want. Ca

They made it look like Facebook recently and it's painful to browse on a desktop. They use only a few pixels width instead of the whole screen. So, I'd fire one or two UX people. The rest is ok... also get rid of a bunch of useles

Sure, I'm referring to the H1B visa. Applications start on April 1st and usually end a day after (when the economy is good like this year). After they reach their quota the visa application shuts down until April next year. So from Jan

This is half true. I'm not Indian but I've been in the Bay Area long enough. I'd say in the PM world, if you apply at companies like ebay, oracle, paypal, etc. being Indian is actually a plus ;) Applying at startups in San Fr

You should seek advice from people who are looking for jobs right now, or people who got freshly hired (within the last 2 months). If you listen to people who aren't in the market now then you won't hear anything relevant. Things
