The Federal Reserve is basically part of the government, under the guise of independence. It's naive that you think otherwise. FDIC is not part of the government and I never said it was, but it does work closely with them. I'm not

The federal government caused the problem first though. The federal reserve denied inflation was real for so long, signaling to everyone that it was safe to buy US Treasuries, then suddenly and aggressively started raising rates. And wasn

Well, for one, I imagine the "network" provided by YC is less valuable to late stage companies than it is to early stage, so YC probably found they were not able to bring as much value. Second, the amount of capital needed to inve

No. I had heard Zantac was recalled due to cancer risk, but didn't know it was related to how it was stored until now. It's paywalled, but this seems to be referenced by a lot of reports: https://www.bloomberg.com/

I understand what you're saying from a practical sense. But having cutesy error messages shows a complete lack of empathy for your users. Better to just communicate that there was a problem, and if you need to say anything else, maybe

It's not just that it causes cancer, but it's that improper storage (heat exposure) increases the risk of it causing cancer, and when informed of that, GSK decided it was not worth doing anything about it. > GSK's leadersh

The difference is that the Magic Eightball is understood to be random. People rely on computers for correct information. I don't understand how it is a cultural problem.

Over 20 years of seeing this attempted by large companies and I have have never seen it work out well for them. I'm not saying there aren't some talented developers working for cheap, but most of the time you get what you pay for.
