You might not skim for `retrun`, but if you're used to it turning purple when you type and it doesn't that time, you might notice.

I never would have bought a gaming computer or console, but a gaming handheld is an easy purchase. There's something much more approachable about having an appliance with a built-in screen vs having to get a monitor/TV and dedicat

This feels like it's always been true. Devices get slower for no perceivable reason, when in reality software at all levels makes higher assumptions about how much power you have, and squanders it more readily.

That's a good point. I was thinking more generally about downloading binaries from unofficial sources.

I have original copies of a lot of these on CD, but even if it was easy to read CDs in 2025, that doesn't mean they're still in readable condition. A lot of abandonware games have ISOs posted on the Internet Archive. There's

Interesting that they chose Android as a base and not one of the desktop-Linux-for-mobile ports like postmarketOS.

Didn't Google already own Android when iOS was announced?

That would break decades of the web with no incentive for Google to do so. Plus, any change of that scale that they make is going to draw antitrust consideration from _somebody_.

Looks like a regression line between April 1 and May 1. The line moves around between the 11th and the 16th from the year ~850 until ~1950, but never crosses it until ~1950. The current average is about 6 days earlier (April 5th).

Isn't that just a Linux problem, where someone could be using GTK or Kirigami or Iced for widgets? Most Mac developers use Cocoa/SwiftUI, so they get whatever widgets the UXEs at Apple have produced. Adobe famously did their post-

Elementary has been around for a long time. From what I recall, it tries to ape the Mac style on Linux the same way that KDE has been accused of aping Windows. The original founder (Cassidy James Blaede) is now a designer for GNOME: https

I had presumed the Gigafactory is near Reno because it's on a trainline in a minimally taxed state and proximate to the Tesla factory (NUMMI in Fremont). I wonder if this lithium deposit was also a factor.

One of the reasons I stopped using Nix is how much more often I saw posts about political bickering than anything helpful. I'm not aware of any other open source project so consumed with virtue signal bikeshedding.
