I see the advantage of a lot of unpaid drivers, but they also aren't morons. Most Uber drivers say they make good money (all that I've met, too), which imo means better than a minimum wage job like warehousing or w/e. They wo

OK, bear with me here. Same system as now, but if you make less than minimum hourly wage (calculated every month), the company covers the difference. I am pretty sure the drivers would nearly always make more than that. Or is it illegal to

> claim it from social services You say it like they just walk in, ask for money and get it. It's really much harder, practically impossible if you're not on some priority list (with kids, disability, single mother, etc).

I can see the future: "New EU law: for every multipurpose robot in operation, the company must employ one human" :D

Why doesn't Uber employ them and guarantee minimum wage, anything extra is a bonus? Is it just the extra employee costs on the company side?

Someone somewhere has the exact same problem and they're hoping a peer with the rest of the torrent will connect. That or a seed box :D

Hmmm, how would they deal with a card that says both "Do Not Resuscitate" and "Organ Donor"?

Where's the 20MW from?

The inverter is more interesting here imo. Actually, that's only part of the problem. Delivering 2MW+ from batteries to the engine and other systems seems pretty hard. Delivering it without failure, even more so...

I can hear the engines very well. Unmistakeable, loud sound.

If "changed/rebuilt/replaced" counts as recovered (and I guess it does), then no. In the end, there will always be a government and people will need to trade.

OK that makes sense. But what about everything else besides taxes? If people don't trust a currency, they can begrudgingly use it to pay taxes. What about food, fuel, clothes, etc? Taxes on everything will only go so far, at some point

So basically, the way I understand it, money is just a means of getting people to do work. All of this work/activity is for fiat currency what gold was in the gold standard. So the ceiling is much higher, but there's still a ceili

It's not that much of a problem when you can buy a lot of basic things with just the coins, I guess.

Yeah, welcome to modern health care. "We don't care as long as you're alive". And if you die, oops, what a tragedy. We'll do nothing to prevent it from happening again. Pay your taxes, though, or else!

Isn't decomposition creating greenhouse gases? Since everyone dies, you can delay the inevitable by getting obese, but in the end it's the same result.

More generally, societies that treat minority opinions and individuality badly are poorer and less stable. Whether it's women's rights, gay/other minority rights, drug usage, mental health, individual freedoms.

Wasn't there a similar story in Japan? Also multiple stories of people secretly living in office building and warehouses. Gotta make do, I guess.

I hear them outside and am happy for them, they don't have tinnitus. Yet. I used to like the sound of engines, still do, but I never understood the farty exhaust tbh.

I had to choose between eating and paying for tickets. I paid the tickets. Ran out of money, got fined and kicked off several times until payday. So I thought, fuck this. Treat me like a piece of shit and I'll act like a piece of shit.

That's a scourge all over Europe. Management are leaders and engineers are low level workers. Follow hierarchy, don't stick your head out, get paid peanuts, leave for America at the first opportunity.

I lived in Birmingham for a few years and loved the ticket apps. Just buy a few tickets (so you can replicate the font), screenshot the whole thing and edit them with a new date and maybe a different number and you can travel for free, cont
