I kind of see 9gag as the new College Humor, maybe bigger and more inclusive. Congrats to the team!

I've been watching NewsBlur for a while now, even exchanging a few emails with Sam. He's a first class guy and I'm excited to see what he can do with NewsBlur. Congrats on the launch!

I don't blame him, what a mess. IMO, a standards push of any sort needs a single, in-touch BDFL to say: "Here is how it is going to be, here are your limited options. Maybe, here are the official libraries and test suites." The current patt

We at Zapier have seen it all when it comes to API's. IMO, the biggest poison around OAuth are options. Optional grant types, various refresh token options, miscellaneous state and scope options, etc... What is the point of a standard that

I'm going to have to second this as well. Memcached is one of the simplest services in the world to set up as well. Maybe if you solve the problem of cache invalidation...

Celery is one of those rare libraries where improvements to itself are improvements to my sanity and well being. That said, I did run into an issue with periodic tasks (our bread and butter at Zapier). Detailed here: https://github.com/cel

This has been done and the exploit has been (mostly?) closed. Google "dropship" for all the details.

We at Zapier love Olark. Rarely a day goes by where we don't proclaim to each other our undying love for all that is Olark. Its invaluable. Oddly enough, it is one of the most expensive SaaS apps we pay for, and if they doubled prices, we

Vehicles are a ubiquitous part of American culture and Car Talk shed light on an otherwise opaque world of mechanical wizardry. Click and Clack will be greatly missed.

Traitor scum! Such an intense title after such a nice conversation on the Django Podcast... [1] Of course I'm kidding because these are valid critiques. Django's code base has a bad case of introducing really hard to debug interactions. But

Very impressive. At Zapier we're building an internal tool very similar to this (and in Python to boot). Maybe we should hook up?

As they say, simply sending résumés is a chumps game. So, working on things that only look good in that context is probably wrong. Instead, if you have a few cool apps under your belt, email the founders of startups you might want to work f

Some thoughts: It sounds like it is more of a competitor in spirit to iCloud, not Dropbox (though, obviously, Dropbox lacking those deeper integrations is troubling...). 100gb for $5/mo going to hurt Dropbox's margins... Not too surprising
