I've been to Dubai, and other parts of the UAE, a few times. It can be enjoyable for short durations, but I am not sure I'd want to live there long term. I am not saying the things you mentioned do not happen, but they're not

This is particularly obvious on American Airlines. EVERY flight I took last year had the FA's telling how this one special flight qualified for a very rare offer... to open a credit card and get some base miles for free. I feel bad for

Nobody working in machine vision is surprised by this. We are a LONG way from having self-driving vehicles as a general thing, particularly when Tesla wants to rely on MV as their source of environment analysis.

Can't comment on this specific cost, but ~20 years ago when I worked at Ford I remember seeing a little poster on the wall celebrating how they value engineered $200 or so out of a Taurus by replacing or eliminating a lot of small part

As a counterpoint, I loathe voice control, I just want to push a button. I'm not saying this just as an counterpoint-for-the-sake-of-arguing, I don't use voice control on anything - phone, TV, home automation, car, etc. I know man

In the past you could get film processed at most drug stores and many larger supermarket style stores like Walmart, Meijer, etc. Many times you could get the entire process done in one hour or less. Now I cannot recall the last time I saw

Gave up on Teamviewer subscriptions years ago because of crap like this. I paid for a full license for a software rev that did everything I needed (basic remote desktop). They upped the version number and of course do not have version cross

Fortunately we're still quite a long ways away from self driving cars in the sense of truly driverless cars that can be relied upon to navigate safely on their own in random settings, like a city block.
