Nearly every service provider complies with legally issued requests. The ones that don't are either lying to you or fly by night operations that I wouldn't trust my business with.

You can't be serious. The challenge of filing presidential candidate paperwork in the US versus the challenges of having a contrarian political opinion in China are nowhere near each other in level of hardship.

To me this is even worse than choosing a bad registrar once by mistake. You keep choosing companies who can't stay in business and let your domain float around like it didn't matter. The second or third buy-out of your name regist

Speaking for myself, I have 20 years of C like language experience and I can't stand the scoping rules or functional nature of javascript. This is why I like PHP. It comes natural when switching between C, bourne shell, perl and PHP. T

I don't know what is hard about setting up a PHP stack. "yum install" and you're on your way. It's certainly no more work than setting up nodejs, ruby, python, a go compiler, etc.

I wonder if any of the proponents of booting large groups of users understand tribalism. It is easy to see one of the unintended consequences of grouping cigar aficionados, home brewers, and gun enthusiasts in with the racists is that they

Other people in the thread have pointed out the woman stepped out in a darker area between where the street lights are placed. Reflecting eyes are not the only way to detect an object. A person watching the road would have seen her dark sil

Not tone deaf at all. The BSD license explicitly permits reuse in differently licensed software. This is the ultimate disagreement of what software freedom means. GPL people think derivatives of their software should remain free. (the viral

That subreddit is hard to follow if you're not up on all the lingo. But it seems pretty normal to me for staffers to reach out to constituents when building legislation. I'd much rather see them talk to regular citizens as in this

Some projects would use older version control systems like cvs. Others would manage development through email lists. Everyone was good at using the diff & patch commands. Mail clients like mutt were great at searching and sorting email.

You're going to get into trouble with the PC Police when trying to build an AI Hot or Not. Just look at the Microsoft AI chatbot who turned racist.

I'm not a denier by thinking no change is happening. However, I do deny the more aggressive estimates are true. This is easily fact-checked by going back 20 years and see who predicted 2017 correctly. It just seems fishy that the most

It really depends on your purpose and how technical your content authors will be. If you need a CMS that non-tech people can handle, WordPress still does a decent job of that. The plugin ecosystem of wordpress is ginormous. Page builder the

One reason: Focus. Anybody who has tried to launch a SAAS app knows that launching the software is not enough. The sales and support infrastructure has to be there as well. I'm not saying they can't do it. They certainly have the

As a former C programmer, you know not to fool around at the max bounds of a type. That avoids all of the integer overflow/underflow conditions. When in doubt, you just throw a long or unsigned on there for insurance. :)

Consider the source of the article. The root of modern journalism is to make a negative insinuation despite official statements to the contrary and let the reader's preconceived notions run wild.
