a "boom" is an overstatement. The camera industry overall is dying and struggling. We're down to something like 10% of camera sales from 2010. There is no boom. There is a transition from DSLR to mirrorless for the few existi

As long as you live in a system that incentivizes these actions - these things will always happen at a high rate. You have to dismantle the system before you can change individual actions on a societal level.

We live in a capitalist economy. Of course these outcomes would happen. It’s a fundamental part of the system. Consolidation of capital and fucking over people for profit is 101.

It’s almost like the economic system which all these companies are based in demands profit over improving the lives of people… Weird.

> SUVs have bigger tires, and thus better grip. Have you ever considered the reason they have bigger tires is because... they're bigger vehicles and therefore need bigger tires to have the same amount of grip as a smaller vehicle?

Europe doesn't have open borders... Even if they "left" their home country somehow - extradition treaties are a thing.

The state has this thing called the military. If it wants to - it’ll get you back and take your money by force. I figured people would understand that this is an option when people like Jack Ma go missing for a few months.

Yeah - it's a super weird take. Almost all the engineers I know get their jobs through random process. They use things like Hired, sending out resumes, responding to recruiters, rooftop slushie (no longer available), and then some actu

You need to be clear on outcomes though - as most people are talking about $10m+ exits for the founders. Bootstrapped to $100k ARR is nice but most people would still consider that a failure unless it takes little to no effort.

I don’t get this idea. When someone says they haven’t had sex - it usually isn’t indicating they only want unattached sex. It usually is shorthand for saying, “I haven’t had sex and I’d like to experience that with someone I have an emotion
