The linked slides say: "Problem for software unenlightened by ABI (golang)" I know they're not your slides, but do you also think Go is unenlightened (which reads: clueless and unaware) or do you think perhaps it consciously

Yup! That documentation is too daunting IMO but it's complete and not many steps, despite all the words. Especially if you're a Go programmer already. (just go get the code review tool) I'd start with filing a bug against Go

Yes, let's get your version into Go if it's better. (I wrote Go's quickly. I've never profiled it, delaying that until Go 1.7, which opened for development yesterday)

Go is developed entirely in the open. I wrote Go's hpack and there are no other Go coworkers in my office.

I've been working on a bot to copy Github Pull Requests into Gerrit reviews, using the Google-hosted Gerrit servers. My bot isn't running publicly yet, but you can see the start of it working at: https://github.com/

Others already pointed out that paragraph 1 isn't really correct. I need to point out that your second point about the linker is totally false. The linker knows and does drop unreferenced code. The import strictness is a language requi

No, that was one of the reasons for GOMAXPROCS=1 on App Engine, which is a hardened environment. For your own code, we trust you to fix your races or deal with the consequences.

They can take it. Or they can build better products. I don't put on kid gloves when a product is this bad. I'm nicer when it's a beta or unreleased. But I paid $500 for these, for a final product. This is unacceptable.

You seem to be confusing compilers and build systems. You can use whatever build system you'd like and with whichever compiler.

The original motivation for putting it into the standard library is so the 'go' command can use it, to watch the filesystem and know what needs to be rebuilt before you even run "go install" or "go build".
