And that, in itself, is absolute gold.

Tyler came so close to Xmonad on OS X but for some reason there is a stall in development. The explicit nature of this doesn't quite make it a tiling window manager; however, it is definitely one of the best options I have found for the Mac

XBMC er here as well. Boxee might turn around their issues with their next release but, it loves to crash right now. XBMC, not a one crash

Matz created...and to what I understand still develops MRI (Matz Ruby Interpreter). Rubinius and jRuby are coming on strong from the Engine Yard team.

Completely agree with this. So many mid sized (read::fairly cool) startups are being swallowed by large companies these days, just to be salvo-ed in a basement and eventually lost. I figured Heroku would have had the same fate, glad they ar

The CLI_FU's are just becoming more and more useful (and paid more). GIT is just becoming more and more useful for everyone from writers to designers. Those groups of people usually run with their tails between their legs away from the comm

The relatively low amount assigned to couch is what surprises me. I thought it was fairly widely used (in the NOSQl world)?

MVP out the door and in the hands of us early adopty-type folks and then work to make a much "better" (whatever this means in your mind) product? It's what I would do.

I have been using the app since it was in early beta and it was and definitely is: flat-out awesome. I was a little surprised by their original price point (25), but at 10 dollars? No brainer.

A a well designed and simple GIT Tut this seems to be easy to run through. In addition, the steps are broken down into micro chunks which are always easier to people who have no clue. Wonderful and thank you.

The app has some serious spikes, but just like you said, the interface blows away Mail.app. Considering how infrequent most people should have their email open, it is well worth the cpu usage.

Am 100% onboard with the Wunderlist comment. I can't stand the ui/ux on this app. If you want to break things down, this app has an amazing design FOR something built on Titanium...that's about it.

Oh how I wish I could down-vote you. It isn't about the novelty it is about the nostalgia. Taking down Geocities was taking down a large portion of the current Internet's history.

I find Jolie's black and white outlook on the word disheartening and a window into the way she views the world. Moreover, this stuff is two months old, why are we relinking it to HN? Plus, if you aren't an entrepreneur yourself, where are

I travel a lot to the DC area and although I am with the both of you when it comes to the paltry food selection, I think 2 Amys is probably one of the best pizza places (non chains ) south of Maryland. In general the food is pretty "dingy"

Big props for the east coasters. Sunday River (home town mountain) in Maine if you want is amazing as well. Hop a train, you are in Boston in 2-2 1/2 hours.

Park City is in my mind way better than Mammoth and SLC is a short hop away. Utah isn't exactly California but it has Boulder and Denver near by if you want to run to a "heavy" startup scene in the summer. I was burned out of a job 2 years

True. However, you did ask specifically why this would be an exciting job title. This is my interpretation on why this job title is actually "kick ass."

It's also well known that many Googlers love their 20% personal (pet) project time and this job description sounds like it took that 20% and juiced it to 100%.
