JSON schema describes the format, more like XSD. WSDL is a lot more with definitions of operations, bindings etc.

While I agree with your premise that SOAP and WS-* is over-engineered, at the basic (simple SOAP + WSDL) I quite like it. There's a defined contract and you can generate strong-typed clients. I haven't checked in a while, but how

Ugh playing CoD MW online on the PS4 was a constant stream of mandatory updates which the PS4 needed to install when I had an hour to spare, even though background updates were enabled, leaving just 30 minutes of play time. Frustrating time

Regarding macOS updates: there’s “Try in an Hour”/“Try Tonight” which does the thing you describe and “Remind Me Tomorrow” which only notifies you a day later. Wouldn’t describe that as a dark pattern.

Why not use robots.txt instead of littering your html with googlebot instructions?

Your post resonates with me, but I dread the yaml configuration. I find it very hard to discover available settings and every module seems to have a slightly different file layout. I’m not a fan of needing the GUI for configuration either.

I haven’t got experience with it, but this seems like an AirTag with a more useful design: Chipolo ONE Spot [0]. With a keyholr, no less. 0: https://chipolo.net/en/products/chipolo-one-spot

Society != profit. What benefits such trillion dollar companies isn’t aligned with what benefits society. Society doesn’t benefit from promotion of fake news, or other spreading of misinformation just to keep the people a minute longer on t

There’s an accessibility option to display buttons with an outline. I have enabled that for some relatives as they are also confused by the (lack of) design. All hail flat design, sigh.

Those websites you mention are written by the same people coming here to complain about Safari does not support $some_new_chrome_feature and that they’ve stopped caring for Safari (web interoperability).

Obscurity isn’t a substitute for security. You still need to have proper authentication and authorization in place.

Microsoft ignoring default shortcuts or even assigning different behaviour in their various macOS apps is driving me insane. On Teams one cannot even discover shortcuts from the menubar as the menubar doesn’t contain any actions beside undo

For me the issue with Silent Mode is that it keeps getting integrated into other apps. So when silent, Photos mutes audio in video and live photos for example.

To add insult, the notifications are a separate window on macOS. So when you use cmd+tab to switch _to_ Teams, you might end up in that notifications window. Even when there are no Teams notifications, that window remains. This is very pain

This is why HomeKit is superior: when you’re in your home, it doesn’t need WAN to function. The connection would be Bulb —> Zigbee —> Zigbee Gateway —> Wifi —> iPhone. When you’re away from home, iCloud will be used, and no IoT

Removing 2FA from existing accounts is never an improvement in security. As other replies on this post have noted, having SMS as 2FA is always better than not having 2FA. Heroku is actively harming their user's security by removing 2

Making existing accounts less secure by removing a second factor is not “leading by example” in my book. Just make me pick a different second factor on my next sign-in.

Not sure if the yay is sarcasm. Heroku will remove existing SMS as second factor from all accounts, effectively making those accounts less secure. Yay Heroku! (Sarcasm intended)

I believe the checklist is missing adding any optional constraints on the new field. This should be done after deploying version 2 (writing to new field) and backfilling existing records.

I believe the interesting bit is its short length. Usually an aqueduct is part of a river or canal, but in this case it is connecting a lake on either side. Edit, then there’s also the new Aquaduct Vechtzicht, recently build and at 65m it i

Try renaming a file from the Finder currently open in Numbers (macOS). Notice how Numbers picks up the new name. So definitely possible, on macOS at least.

I’d say if the file got renamed, the editor should just use the new filename. The name of the file is just metadata, not its identity.
