Well the amount of node processes spawned by VS has also grown exponentially with every new version.

Looking at the picture, the release design [0] is unfamiliar to me. Maybe it is a common design for US brands? I haven’t seen such a design on any EU car that I’ve been in. Over here they look like this [1]. [0]: https://cdn.moto

Azure DevOps can also show the changes between different pushes: called “updates”. We tried GitHub for some time, but found the lack of this feature a no-go. GitHub is seriously broken in this regard: they will send an e-mail that should sh

But those old apps are still available for download to those who have purchased them before. So doesn’t that mean that Apple needs to keep the support for those old SDKs? If so, these SDKs can’t be the reason for this old app purge (the poi

Changing school times cannot happen in isolation. That will also cause work times to shift to match their drop-off and pick-up times. So as work times for parents shift, so would opening hours for restaurants and shops and finally the socie

And even 2 of those 8 GiB were taken up by the OS. So that leaves just 6 GiB. Now we’re already at 7%. That’s valuable storage that you cannot use to fill with holiday pictures.

This is (sadly) nothing new. A similar notification ("Mega Mac App Bundle") popped up three years ago (2019-02-25). I wrote an angry support ticket. Apparently to no avail.

Not supporting unicode as a feature leaves out most of the world’s population. I’m not interested in such “features” as a non-native English speaker.

Given the overall Teams hate, what alternative is there for a business with both technical and non-technical users? It needs to have great chat: 1-on-1 and groups, voice and video calls. Low memory/cpu usage. Preferably a native applic

Ugh render performance is pretty bad on Safari on a MBP 2019. The tiles seem to be rendered async instead of in just one go. My machine should be capable of rendering ~500 coloured boxes without any delay. What a terrible UX.

That we’ve been doing a certain thing in the past, is no excuse to allow it to continue going forward. It is a good that we are challenging practices that we have taken for granted and validate whether we want such practices to continue.

I suppose the problem is not perl being lied to, but storing unicode (utf-8?) in a field designated as latin-1. That’s bound to cause issues down the line.

I looked into FastMail as well about 1-2 years ago. I’d like IMAP PUSH support for iOS, to replace the polling needed for gmail. Good support for iOS search is also needed, I haven’t investigated how FastMail works in that regard yet.

Care to explain? I believe Swift’s model to be quite sensible for human non-US text, having an API that puts Unicode before ASCII. The bytes are still available if you want to shoot yourself in the foot.

Power draw from the GPU is a lot lower on Monterey. Still not as good as driving only the internal display, but about ~40% lower compared to previous OSs. Lower power mode also helps another 15%.
